Announcement: International Training on Renewable Energy Practical Technology Course:

Strengthening International Cooperation for Sustainable Development


We are delighted to announce the forthcoming International Training on Renewable Energy Practical Technology Course, jointly administered by the Ministry of Science and Technology, PRC, and organized by Yunnan Normal University (YNNU). This esteemed training program is designed to deepen collaboration between China and other developing countries in the realm of sustainable development, with a specific focus on enhancing the development of renewable energy technologies. The course will take place in Kunming, China, from June 24, 2024, to July 08, 2024, and will be instructed in English.




01. Objectives:

s Foster enhanced cooperation among China and developing countries to promote sustainable development.

s Facilitate knowledge sharing and practical skill development in renewable energy technologies.

s Spearhead global efforts towards advancing renewable energy for a greener and sustainable future.


02. Key Highlights:

1. Expert-Led Training: Esteemed professionals and scholars from leading Chinese institutions will deliver comprehensive and practical training sessions on cutting-edge renewable energy technologies. Participants will gain valuable insights into the latest advancements and best practices in the field.


2. Hands-On Experience: The course places a strong emphasis on experiential learning through interactive workshops, laboratory exercises, and site visits. Trainees will actively engage with renewable energy systems, honing their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.


3. Collaborative Environment: 15 trainees from diverse developing countries will be invited to attend this training program. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of participants will foster a vibrant environment for cross-cultural knowledge exchange and networking.


4. State-of-the-Art Facilities: The training will be conducted at Yunnan Normal University, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Trainees will have access to advanced laboratories, simulation tools, and demonstration sites, enriching their understanding of renewable energy technologies.


5. Cultural Exchange: Beyond the training program, participants will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in China's rich culture and heritage. Cultural activities and excursions will be organized to provide a holistic experience, fostering lasting friendships and international cooperation.


03. Core Training Contents:

The training program has been organized by YNNU, in collaboration with the Solar Energy Research Institute in the School of Energy and Environment Science. Distinguished experts in the field of energy technology have been invited to deliver lectures and share their knowledge. The training will cover the following key topics:


1. Solar Photovoltaic Technology Applications: This module encompasses both theoretical understanding and practical demonstrations of solar photovoltaic power generation. It will also explore intelligent grid connections, solar street lighting systems, solar photovoltaic pumped storage micro hydropower, agricultural irrigation systems, and solar refrigeration technologies.


2. Solar Thermal Applications: This section focuses on the theoretical foundations and practical demonstrations of solar drying equipment, solar air conditioning (refrigeration) systems, household solar hot water systems, hot water air energy combined with solar hot water systems, and building energy conservation techniques.


3. Biomass Energy Applications: The development and utilization of biomass energy will be explored in this segment. Participants will gain insights into the theoretical aspects as well as engage in platform experiments and demonstrations related to biogas fermentation technology.


4. Energy Enterprise Product Introduction and Technical Exchange: This part of the training will involve showcasing energy enterprise products, analyzing exemplary demonstration cases, and providing technical guidance tailored to the specific energy construction needs in the global south.



0.4 Application Requirements:

1. Proficiency in English is essential as all courses in the International Training Workshop will be conducted in English.

2. Applicants should be actively involved in work related to new energy and renewable energy within government, enterprises, NGOs, or other organizations.

3. Participants are required to comply with all relevant laws and regulations in China throughout the training.

The training cost, accommodation, food and field trip travels will be covered by the organizer. However, participants need to self sponsor the round trip air tickets from your residence to Kunming and back home.
